Care Daily
Delete your account
This page explains how to delete your account in the Care Daily apps, published by Care Daily Ltd: Care Daily Client, Care Daily Family and Care Daily Pro (for care staff). You can do it yourself in the app, or ask us to do it for you.
Care Daily Client
For people who receive care.
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Profile and scroll to Account.
- Tap Delete account, enter your password and tap Delete my account.
Care Daily Family
For relatives and friends of someone receiving care.
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Profile.
- Tap Delete account, enter your password and confirm.
Care Daily Pro
For carers and care staff.
- Open the app and sign in.
- Tap More, then My Profile.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Can't use the app?
Ask your care provider (or employer) to remove your access, or email support@caredaily.co.uk with the subject Account deletion request. Tell us which app you use, the email address or username you sign in with, and the name of your care provider. We will confirm your identity with your care provider, then delete your account within 30 days and email you when it is done.
What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted straight away
- Your ability to sign in. Every phone signed in to your account is signed out.
- Your password, and the email address or username you sign in with.
- Your app settings, notification choices and the push notification tokens for your devices.
- Care Daily Family only: your name and phone numbers on the account are also removed.
Kept by your care provider
- Care records, including visits, care notes, care plans, medication records and messages with the care team. These belong to the care provider, not to the app. The law requires providers to keep them, usually for at least 8 years after care ends (and longer for children). Deleting your app account does not change your care.
- For care staff: employment, visit and payroll records your employer must keep by law.
To ask for your care records themselves to be corrected or deleted, contact your care provider: they are the data controller for those records. Care Daily Ltd processes them on the provider's behalf.
